Product development project at Hogeschool Antwerpen to develop an innovative product using sensors. By using a piezo electric sensor the bike can determine whether it is still in use or not. A processor analyses vibrations real time and distinguishes irregular human movement from regular environmental vibrations. Using finger print recognition technology the device can be unlocked and allows other people to be authorized as additional users. The red LED returns feedback from the finger print recognition module and flashes when the device goes in lock mode. When the device is in lock mode and runs out of energy it will stay locked mechanically. A retractable steel cable is integrated to avoid displacement of the bike. Thieves should be disencouraged stealing the bike protected with this electronic lock. // Modelled in Rhino3D & rendered with Flamingo.
