After graduation in 2007, I worked for 2 different companies, both of them in eyewear. The first was more production and management oriented, the second was more creatively and esthetically challenging. Working in these organizations has refined a whole range of product development skills. Some of them are obvious, such as: · Materials and their properties · Production methods · Quality control · Working in a company, learning it’s structure and methods · Communication in Dutch, French and English But it has also taught me more complex things, which are developing into my strengths: · Recognizing and acting upon the talents of people, and working with them in a team · Analyzing the structure, methods and vision of a company and (their) markets… · … in order to translate this analysis to ideas and products which fit the profile. · Communication to interdisciplinary team members and management by quick and comprehensive sketches and/or CAD-drawings While working for these enterprises, my own insights were shaped about how product development should work or should be implemented. This made me switch jobs at certain points in my career and eventually led to leaving my last position, early November 2010. It was time for me to take another path... Since then companies with experience in and passion for ecology were my target group. I'm currently working at Reynaers Aluminium, an ISO 14001 certificated, aluminium construction materials company located in Duffel. I'm also working as a freelance designer, so sustainable design projects are also welcome! If you have an interesting project for me as a freelance designer, do not hesitate to let me know!
